Tips For Getting The Best Race Calendar Page (Highest In Google)
Use The Same Page To Keep Your Race Information Current Every Year
Words explaining important things about your race must be in your race calendar listing on this site or your race will not be found for those things, either on this site or in Google. If your race is a trail run, has a USATF cetified course or is a Boston qualifier you must say that in your listing or your race will not be found for those things.
The best race titles are the race name, city and state. All of the rest of the information can be used in the body of the listing. If your race has more than one name add it to the body so that your race can found in a search. Think about what words runners will use when searching for your race and include those words. Your race will be found by the words in the race listing so describe it well. The page title is the most important part of your listing so make it accurate and descriptive.
When listing your race always search first to avoid duplicate listings since one of them is bound to be wrong or outdated information. leave a note if you already have a listing and can't edit it.
Be sure to give the exact address where the race starts so people from out of town can use Google maps or a GPS as these require a street address, to find your race. List the city and state of your race right in the title to make it easier for out of state people to find your race on line.
When listing a website for more information instead of the home page, list the exact page that specific race is on so runners don’t have to search for information. Don't list information or registration pages until that race information is there. Make it easy for people to come to your race. The same for registration, don't list the home page of active.com, etc. list what page your race is on. You can get this link from the browser bar when viewing that page. Make it easy for runners to sign up for your race.
When listing race
When listing race information instead of what cause the race will support list things like course informaton, start and finish location and start finish time and date. Is the course scenic, out and back, flat or hilly and how far it is.
