We the members of VFW Post 5547 Mid County Post invite you to join us in our 3rd Annual “Patriots’ Day Run 2013.” Both 10K and 5K courses will be a challenging yet scenic tour of patriotic Syracuse, Nebraska ran on both paved and rural roads. 75% of the funds raised from this event will benefit the VFW National Home for Children (www.vfwnationalhome.org), which provides help for military families. Trophies will be presented to the Overall Men's and Women's In both distances. Memorial Awards presented to the first winner of each of the three (3) Memorial Award Divisions: (1) Military, (2) Law & Order previously called Law Enforcement-Corrections, (3) Fire Fighter/EMS personnel in both distances. Awards to Age Bracket Winners.

Come and challenge the 10K course record of 40:14, and the 5K course record of 19:25. All Advanced and Regular Registered entrants will receive Patriots inspired gear and participation medal. Late registered runners will not be guaranteed items. Complete Timing of Syracuse, NE will do the chip timing for this event.

Team Award Available: the 'Joint Meritorious Unit Award' (optional) awarded to the largest group participant (overall) this is open to any group, organization or club as long as each member gives the name of his/her organization on the line provided on the entry form and include naming a team captain name on the line provided on the entry form. This award will be presented to the winning group at the awards ceremony on Saturday Sept. 14, 2013. All participants are also entered to win individual awards.
