9 Ways To Improve Your Running
When I first started running I had very bad form. My head and upper body would bend forward and my arms would gradually get higher and higher. I have learned that this constricted my breathing. But in order to break that habit I had to concentrate on it continually since I did it without thinking. With the help of others I was able to first be aware of things then to break these bad habits. Below are some other things people told me that I have remembered. If you can think of anything else please leave it in a comment below.
- Keeping your head up
- You can breathe better with your head up because your rib cage has more room to expand, when you are bent over there is less room to breathe
- Breath slow and controlled
- Keep your arms down
- Experienced runners concentrate on the running newbies try to think about other things, I used to think about music.
- Intake air when your rib cage is expanded
- Keep your muscles relaxed
- Look straight ahead
- Think about proper running form continually

I think after running for
I think after running for several years I have lapsed back into not thinking about running. I never seem to worry about time either any more I just run.
ty for the tips
Your tips helped me feel better during and after running. Before, i always end up panting and catching my breath from running. Most of the time, i complain from intense muscle pains. i hardly enjoyed it at all. But with the information in your post, running is gradually becoming one of my favorite things to do to lose weight. Super thanks!
Another note about hands
A good image to help keep your hands in a properly relaxed state - not too tight, not too loose - is to imagine that you're holding a potato chip in between your forefinger and your thumb. You don't want to squeeze too hard or you'll break the chip; you don't want to have your fingers flopping all over the place either. I don't know who came up with that originally, but I give credit to Tim Cary, my high school distance coach.
Your Hands
Your hands should be in the area of your waist and hang loosely. Your fists should not be clenched but your hands should hang loose also. Just relax and concentrate on breathing slow and relaxed.
