About this race
Race distance/Course description:

The Finger Lakes Mud Run at Everest Park is a challenging military-style trail run designed to pit participants against one of two extreme courses: a 5k challenge for the serious mud runner and a shorter, family-friendly 2k challenge. Each wave of participants joins a stampede of literally hundreds who’ll trudge through thick field grasses, over wooded underbrush, down and out of deep gullies, and ultimately face 16 jaw-dropping obstacles, each designed to encourage team work and camaraderie, to overcome them.

Race Location:

The short course is approximately 1.7 miles long and contains 9 obstacles, while the long course is approximately 3.1 miles and contains 16 obstacles.

The short course has 17 elevation changes greater then 20 feet along the course, with 4 of them greater then 30 feet over a 50 feet distance. This course allows participants to enjoy the beauty and diverse environments of the front half of Everest Park.

The long course contains 16 obstacles. There are 33 elevation changes greater then 20 feet along the course, with 6 of them greater then 50 feet over a 600 feet distance and another 4 of them greater then 30 feet over a 50 feet distance. This course allows participants to enjoy the beauty, diverse environments, and wonderful vistas that all Everest Park has to offer.

Participants are encouraged to wear costumes! The crazier the better! Awards will be handed out for the all kinds of costumes. Crazy team hats… silly team shirts… Use your imagination! From the most original and the most bizarre, to the most unexpected (grown men in frilly pink tutu’s are always great contenders). Awards will even go out to the best TV sitcom copycats.

While some of our waves don’t start until later morning, our early waves will be ready to get loose long before lunch! Along with the Pre-Start Launch, we’ll have plenty of hard-core music to keep spectators and participants pumped-up all day long! Music goes LIVE at 8:00am and doesn’t stop until the last person has left the park!

The Finger Lakes Mud Run is a challenge, not a race. However, that doesn’t mean that we don’t celebrate and award prizes to participants, spectators, and volunteers! Our awards ceremony, where contests winners will be announced, will begin following the arrival of the last participant across the finish line.

After everyone's conquered the course, it’ll time to let loose and have even more fun! Enjoy yourself! There’s plenty of cold beer, warm food, good friends, and great music! Plans are in motion to include a local band to compliment the our DJ’s that will be there all day long.

Alcohol Policy

The Finger Lakes Mud Run will allow the consumption of alcohol to any 21 year old person who can provide a valid PHOTO ID. Expect to be ID-ed. Please drink responsibly.

Tailgating

Due to the close proximity of the event site, we prefer all our guests to get loose on the event grounds, therefore tailgating is not permitted.
