Therapeutic Horsemanship (TH) is hosting our first annual True Grit Challenge - a 3 phase challenge consisting of winter, spring and summer benefit runs on the trail and woods surrounding our 90 acre facility in Wentzville, MO. Phase I - Below Zero for Our Heroes will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2010 and a portion of the funds raised through this run are very appropriately being used to launch our TH Horses for Heroes program that provides equine-assisted therapy services to wounded warriors and veterans. TH Horses for Heroes participants include veterans and service members with challenges such as: head and spinal cord injuries, amputation, auditory and visual impairments, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The patients served through TH's programs spend every day of their lives facing and overcoming adversity. They are our inspiration in issuing and hosting the True Grit Challenge.
Registration and packet pick-up for Phase 1 - Below Zero for Our Heroes opens at 8:00am with the 5K Trail Run beginning at 9:00am and the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk starting at 9:15am. There will be 5K Awards as well as Fundraising Prizes and a trophy awarded to participants who complete all three phases of the challenge.
