I LOVE THIS RACE. Its so much fun. They have so much going on during the race it's hard to feel like you are competing. The streets are alive with community support. People leave out Christmas decorations, and torches and luminaries and lamps to light the road. There were bands and radios and kids and people everywhere. I like the popsicles too. Lots of people plugging along and stuff for the kids to do.

Yes there is something great about running in the dark, streets lined with candles and people cheering. I liked it even better when it started out at the fairgrounds.

Yes I have ran this race a lot too and there is nothing like going past all of the luminaries in the dark with all of the people cheering along the sidelines. This is definitely one of my favorites.
