Race Start/Finish: The run/walk will start and finish at the intersection of Main and Hillside, downtown Glen Ellyn, IL

Course Info: Family participation is strongly encouraged on this flat USATF certified 5K through beautiful downtown Glen Ellyn and surrounding neighborhoods. Runners wishing to push baby strollers will be required to remain behind others at the start and during the race.

Race Parking: Parking will be plentiful in the commuter lots on Duane St./Lorraine St., along the train tracks between Main St. and Forest Ave. and along train tracks between Forest Ave. and Park Ave.

About This Race: Welcome to the first annual Glen Ellyn P.S.S. We Love You 5K Run/Walk in support of Pediatric Stroke. Did you know that each year, 1 in 4,000 babies and 1 in 8,300 children have a stroke? Stroke in childhood causes multiple disabilities including paralysis, seizures, speech, vision, behavioral, and learning differences. Stroke in children costs at least $42 million annually in the US alone.

After learning our son, Johnny, had a stroke in utero, we organized this event to raise awareness about Pediatric Stroke, to help those young survivors in need of additional therapy and to assist various research and educational institutions devoted to finding a cure for pediatric stroke. All race proceeds will be donated to the Children's Hemiplegia & Stroke Association (chasa.org) in support of these goals. Thank you for your support!
