KODOS to Mark Burek for a wonderfully inspiring day at Washington Park. Run for Parkinson's 5k/1 mile was a fantastic event. And...it was the 1st and hopefully not the last. I was so lucky to stumble upon its listing on AREEP's running schedule who also hosted the event. Josh, once again guided us runners so well. Brian Grant graciously appeared and hung out with about 60 people plus onlookers strolling through the park. An auction, wine tasting with a comemorative glass, pretty T-shirt, delicious lunch, movie highlights on The Brian Grant Foundation, rockin' music ,wrist bands and a dedication area for tulips in the park. Mayor Jerry Jennings drove up and greeted us. Paul Tonko joined the dedication. And lasting about a full 7 hours I watched as Brian Grant left the park as his charismatic stroll inspired me so much. Attendees asked me my connection to Parkinson'sDisease and I hadn't really thought about it too much. My Mom passed from Lou Gehrig's Disease in '92, and I have been a nurse since '03. So I guess it was my long history of recreational running that may have had me here. Or it was just luck. I realize I was SUPPOSED to be there. I have met Mark Burek, a man who brought awareness to Albany. Please do it again Mark-you made my Sunday along with others...

I remember this being a great event. I happened to be standing at the finish area and as the overall winner of the women's race approached the line, a banner was stretched across the line. The runner crossed the line, ran through the banner, not tearing it. I picked the banner up and it has been in my possession ever since that day. A great memory!

Great fun race for runners tired of huge crowds. They have around 300 or so runners, nice in town course, mostly flat on good roads. Great price for entry and friendly family atnosphere with plenty of other things for family members to do while you run right there at Wiley park, even a Lion's Club pancake breakfast at the park before and after the race. If you want a fair chance at a trophy but still like some competetion this is the race!!! I'm going back this year for my 4th race.

First of all I want to thank you for putting on such an organized race! I was able to run with my 8yr old son Carson in his first race. I haven't seriously run for competition since high school which is over 20 years. I have always been a weight lifter. Carson and I ran the 2 mile race today. For an 8 year old I was very happy for him. He was so excited how he did we had to go right away and tell his grandpa and grandma how he finished! Not thinking that he may have done well or even finished in the top 3 we left to my parents house.

The first time I tried to get a site map of this site the program creating it quit at 10,000 pages. So I got a different one and this time the program quit at 50,000 pages. So I know this site has at least 50,000 pages.
